If you’re stuck in the endless freelance cycle wondering where your next client will come from, charging next to nothing for a logo, and completely burnt out from taking on WAY too many projects, listen up: I’ve been in your shoes…working around the clock for demanding AF clients, taking on any project (even “just a logo”), and wondering how I’ll pay rent. I desperately wanted to charge more so I could book less clients and take more time off. Sound familiar? I get it. I knew I needed a change and if you do too, keep reading.
Now, I’m consistently booked out with $8k+ projects with my DREAM clients, and get to take time off to travel and spend time with family anytime I want. Looking to make this transformation for yourself?
Now, I’ve built a business I love where I’m consistently booked out with $8k+ projects with my DREAM clients while only working four days each week. This IS possible for you too!
Here are 4 ways you can start landing those dreamy, high-budget clients like yesterday:
Build a high-quality portfolio of client work - Make sure every project you share in your portfolio is absolutely top-tier quality design work with mockups to display layouts. You’ll also want to make sure you showcase the results you create for your client. This will help you stand out from competitors and inspire people to invest with you because they’ll see your service as the transformation they need to get to where they want to go. Not sure how to keep track of your clients’ results? Talk to them! Reach out to your clients after each project and identify how you helped their business grow with the brand you created. Maybe it helped their engagement rate on Instagram, or helped their booking rate, or increased sales. You need to share these results in your portfolio to help prospective clients see the benefits of working with you.
Create an offer suite that meets your clients where they’re at. - Take some time to research your ideal client, and then build your offers around their needs. Not sure how to do that? We can help. You’re going to want to start with some market research on your target client, identify their needs and goals, and what's standing in their way. Next, formulate your offers to solve their biggest problem and help them reach their goals. Want to take it one step further? Create a ladder of offers that meets your clients at every stage of their journey (from beginning to end).
Optimize your systems and streamline processes. - One of the most important things I learned from my mentor is that a confused buyer will never buy. If your sales process (aka the transformation from lead to client) is unclear, there’s a high chance that that lead will move on to someone else. For example, instead of going back and forth 10 times trying to find a meeting time that works for both of you next week, send a link to a booking app like Calendly. That way, your lead can quickly schedule a call with you. It’s important to ensure that your process holds your client’s hand so booking becomes easy AF for them.
Wow your clients with a referral-worthy experience. - Referrals are a huge factor in our success at Quixotic and a huge part of how we scaled the business quickly. One of the best ways to earn referrals is to WOW your existing clients with a fun, easy, and results-oriented experience. Guiding your client through your processes with ease while making them feel taken care of will help you stand out as the expert (and will make the project fun for your client!). If you want to successfully position yourself as a high ticket designer, then you NEED to provide a high-quality client experience.
